Encounter God
In 2016, Sue and I were looking to expand our greenhouse business so that sent us on a mission to look for land. I found myself one day standing in an empty field adjacent to the home farm, my mind began to ponder all the great things I could do with this empty plot of land. Then I felt the Holy spirit say very strongly to buy the home farm. I said a resounding no! and went back to my planning on what I could do on the land I was standing on. A minute later, again I felt the Holy Spirit, more strongly now, literally almost turned my head to the right toward the home farm- Tom, the farm!
More determined I said, God it is too big and too much work and too expensive-no! I went back to my wonderful plans on the land I was standing on…. The third time the Holy Spirit came…. this time much more authoritative and commanding. So again, he said, Tom the FARM! I knew right then and there that I was really testing God, I paused and said OK God, I surrender! I held both my hands up in the air and again said Ok God- I know what I had just committed to and I tell you I felt like I was going to get sick to my stomach- Alright God, if you want me to buy the home farm then I will, but under one condition, you are the owner and I’m just the project manager.
After I said that I turned and walked back to my bike and rode home. But I can honestly say, as I rode off, I had for the first time in months a complete peace that I did the right thing. The land that I was searching for was found. A lot had to take place before we could actually buy it but I knew if God was now the owner, it would all work out and I can now say 9 years later that I’ve seen and experienced many God stories that attest to his faithfulness and love for his children.
